Hyperloop To Reduce Mumbai-Pune Travel Time To 15 Mins, Maharashtra Govt Signs Agreement



Believe it or not, your commute time between Mumbai and Pune could come down from three hours to a quarter-hour. All hail technology!

Regarding to Mumbai Mirror survey, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) provides signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hyperloop A single, a Los Angeles- based company, on Wednesday.

The deal was signed with the Virgin Hyperloop d for exploring the likelihood of connecting Mumbai and Pune with hyperloop transportation system.

MoU signed in presence of CM @Dev_Fadnavis betwn PMRDA and @HyperloopOne to conduct pre-feasibility study of routes in Maharashtra State, particularly in Pune-Mumbai region, where Hyperloop based passenger transit system can be implemented.

In the achieving that was held in Mantralaya, Mumbai, the Devendra Fadnavis, senior vice-president for global field functions Nick Earle discussed the possibilities of implementing this system.
 
The new transport system could also streamline airport connectivity, such as connecting Pune’s new Purandar Airport to the city center or Navi Mumbai International Airport to Chhatrapati Shivaji AIRPORT TERMINAL.

Hyperloop is a fresh mode of transport which carries passengers, freights in pods via electro-magnetic propulsion through low pressure tube. It is fast, having speed up to 670 mph (1,080 kmh)

Fadnavis said, "Hyperloop is the future of Mass Rapid Transport System (MRTS) developed for demands of the 21st century. It requires high density traffic for becoming viable means of rapid public transport, which is available between Pune and Mumbai."
